Welcome to Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2023! Cybersecurity is widely becoming something that everyone should be aware of. This month we promote awareness among TCNJ employees and encourage you to promote cybersecurity awareness outside of TCNJ as well. You should have received an email regarding our annual training program, but if you have not, the email from our CISO, Matt Cesari, is posted below. If you have not received the course assignment email, please feel free to reach out to us via itsecurity@tcnj.edu and we can assign it to you. Thank you!
Dear Faculty and Staff,
October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This year’s theme is “Secure Our World” which calls on us all to adopt ongoing cybersecurity habits and improved online safety behaviors. We all have a part to play in protecting ourselves and our community from cyber attacks. I encourage you to use strong passwords, and to enable multi-factor authentication on all your accounts, recognize and report suspicious messages, and ensure your software is up to date.
You will receive a follow up email about our mandatory annual cybersecurity training. We have three short videos this year that should take 10 minutes to complete. If you have any questions please reach out to itsecurity@tcnj.edu
And a quick reminder to always be on the lookout for phishing attacks. Report any suspicious messages to phish@tcnj.edu. Our security team will review and block fraudulent emails, which helps protect other members of our community.
Sincerely,
Matt Cesari
