We are seeing another round of emails impersonating President Bernstein this morning approving payments for fraudulent invoices. Please see email examples below. Note that despite the email addresses appearing in the email body as tcnj.edu addresses and blue links, if you hover over them (same as you would with URLs) in the bottom left the true email address will appear. However, this is not the only indicator as they may link to the real email address in hopes you will not reply and just follow the instructions elsewhere in the email. Note the use of language to indicate urgency and try to ensure that the victim takes quick action on the email rather than looking into it. These attacks are becoming more and more difficult to identify quickly so be sure to be diligent when checking emails regarding financial or personal information, and please forward any suspicious messages to us at phish@tcnj.edu.
